Moving to a new blog

I decided that since I cannot keep up with this blog (and it is more of a diary and filled w/ bitching lol), I would start another that is more for keeping up w/ the boys.  It's for family and friends and if you want to check it out it's here:

See ya over there!  I may post here again if I feel like it, but probably not.  lol

The baby is here!

I am so bad at keeping up w/ everyone!  The baby is here!  A BOY!  Can you believe it?  He arrived on 9/9 at 3:54 pm.  He weighed 7 pounds 6 ounces and was 20.5 inches long... my smallest one.  His name is John David Thomas and we'll call him JD or JT, not sure which one.

I'll post more later... still working on the birth story, but I had him at home in the hot tub outside and caught him myself.  It was amazing!!!

Almost in the home stretch

I'm 35 weeks and a day or so.  Holy crap where did the time go?!?  This is just crazy!!!!!!!!!  I think once you get to 36 weeks, that's when it's crunch time.  I ordered my birth kit the other day!  OMG!  And I go see the back up Dr in a couple weeks.  We have to really start getting our acts together SOON!  I have just a few things I want to buy.  Bret and I moved the car seats around in the van the other day.  I still have to take out one seat and install the old Roundabout rear facing.  I decided to just use the RA for the first couple weeks since we probably won't really be going anywhere anyway and I want to get a bucket seat but I want it to be gender specific  ;)

Speaking of gender, the baby's hb has consistenly been in the 150's and 160's.  Both boys were always in the 130's and 140's.  My mw thinks it's a girl  :D  I kind of do too.  Of course I would be happy no matter what the gender, but I will be suprised if it's a boy.  Bret has a name for the baby so we don't have to even worry about that.  Whiz Bo.  Nice, eh?  lol

I'm working on a last few custom orders then I want to make just a few more new baby things.  I've got probably 6 itty bitty soakers that will fit for about 5 seconds.  lol  I want to make a couple small ones.  I also made 3 of Patti's Sleep Sacks.  I think that's about all.  I have a great diaper collection.  I'd like a few more, but I think I've got plenty.  A girl can never have too many though.  I'm doing all fitteds for the nb period w/ a dz preemie prefolds jic.  I've got tons of small diapers too and quite a few mediums.  I never did sell Bret's old diapers so I have all those too.  If I put all the diapers in trash bags I think I'd have 2 full at least.  Maybe 3.

I think we'll be fine for clothes too.  I kept all the boys' stuff and I'm sure that if this babe is a girl we will be bombarded w/ pink.  lol  I just need to figure out where to put all the baby stuff!  Before I had the changing table in Parker's closet, but his closet is full of crap now and besides, I don't really think it's a great idea to put it there anyway.  Maybe I can clear out some crap from the guest room closet and stick it in there.  I dont' know!!  That is my big dilemma right now. We need a bigger house!

Other than baby stuff, we're getting ready for school to start next Wed.  I just found out today that Parker will be in a special day class w/ only 2nd graders!  I was really relieved to hear that b/c originally he was in the K-2 class and this year there were going to be lots of kindergarteners coming in and I was worried.  So this is a good thing!  They haven't hired a teacher yet (!) but hopefully they will have their shit together by next week.  Bret is not really wanting to talk about kindy.  I think he's a little worried, but he won't tell me.  It makes me worry a bit too.  I am sure that after a few days he will be fine.  I'll just have to make sure to love on him a little extra  :)

Oh, I took Parker to the homeopath on Monday!  We gave a test dose of the remedy and so far haven't seen much.  I'm corresponding w/ the homeopath and after tomorrow will find out what to do next.  I am hoping that this will help!!  Dr Luc seemed very optomistic that he could help Parker so that makes me really happy!

26 weeks and change

I can't believe it!  I am almost to 30 weeks.  For some reason 30 weeks seems crazy.  Like that's when you realize that you are going to have a baby SOON!  Ack!  I had an appt today.  Everything is great except I am gaining gobs of weight.  Mw isn't concerned, but of course it bugs me.  Oh well, I guess I"m just one of those pg women who gains weight.  If that's my biggest pg issue I guess I should be thankful though.  Really, there is nothing else of any concern going on... except I measured today at 31 cm!!!   We talked a bit about twins... holy crap.  She said that there is a "greater than small chance" of twins.  I didn't have a lot of unusual growth early on which would indicate twins, but I was a little more than suprised to find out how big I am measuring.  I looked back at my "card" from Parker (I got a card that listed all my stats to take to the hospital... I had one of those typical births w/ the group of providers so you didn't know who would be there when you had the baby).  I measured right on the whole time and was actually only 38 cm at delivery.  I don't have a card from Bret, but iirc I was always measuring right on as well.  So... who knows!  I told dh and he freaked out a bit and wants an u/s now (we declined an u/s).  We'll have to talk more about it.  Right now my biggest concern is the possibility of not being able to have a homebirth (we are planning one but my mw has not delivered twins)... the thought of a hospital birth makes me want to cry.  Really it does.  My mw's back up OB is a man too... even w/ my first birth my OB was a woman.  I'm just not too keen on having a man down there during birth.  I don't want to deliver in the surgery room.  Ug.

But really the chance of twins is remote imo.  We have no family history of twins anywhere that I know of.  I'm not that "old" (I'm under 35), I didn't use any fertility drugs.  It would seem highly unlikely.  But WHY the hell am I measuring 5 wks ahead?!?

So that's the scoop.
